designed by Frank O. Gehry and Gehry Partners
After its successful premiere at the Pavillion de l'Arsenal in Paris early July and having spent the summer in Arles, the LUMA Fondation will present the model of its new cultural multipurpose site, the LUMA/Parc des Ateliers in the city center of Arles, France, as the Special Event of 12th Internation Architecture Exhibition, People meet in architecture, directed by Kazuyo Sejima in Venice (or the Biennale Architettura 2010).
The LUMA/Parc des Ateliers in Arles, France, will be a site for the production of art and ideas developed by American architect Frank O. Gehry and Gehry Partners, LLP for the Swiss-based LUMA Foundation, as a multipurpose cultural park. This privately funded project combines refurbished industrial heritage buildings and new constructions. The site will be linked to the city not only through its programming, but also by a garden designed by Belgian landscape architect Bas Smets.
